How to install Windows 11?

 Before we begin with the installation process, it's important to check whether your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. These requirements include:

  • A compatible processor with at least 1 GHz clock speed and 2 or more cores.

  • 4 GB of RAM or more.

  • At least 64 GB of storage.

  • A DirectX 12 compatible graphics card or integrated GPU with a WDDM 2.0 driver.

  • A display with at least a 720p resolution, and a 9" diagonal screen size or larger.

  • A UEFI firmware with Secure Boot capability.

  • TPM version 2.0.


If your system meets these requirements, then you can proceed with the installation process. Here are the steps to install Windows 11:

Step 1: Backup your data

Before you start with the installation process, it's important to backup all your important data to an external drive or cloud storage. This ensures that you don't lose any important data in case something goes wrong during the installation process.

Step 2: Download the Windows 11 installation media

You can download the Windows 11 installation media from the Microsoft website. You can choose to download either the ISO file or use the Media Creation Tool.

Step 3: Create a bootable USB drive or DVD

Once you have downloaded the Windows 11 installation media, you will need to create a bootable USB drive or DVD. You can use tools like Rufus or the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool to create a bootable USB drive or DVD.

Step 4: Boot your PC from the USB drive or DVD

Insert the bootable USB drive or DVD into your PC and restart your PC. Make sure that your PC boots from the USB drive or DVD. You may need to change the boot order in your BIOS settings to boot from the USB drive or DVD.

Step 5: Install Windows 11

Once your PC boots from the USB drive or DVD, you will see the Windows 11 setup screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 11. You will need to select your language, time and currency format, and keyboard or input method.

Step 6: Enter your product key

If you have a product key for Windows 11, enter it when prompted. If you don't have a product key, you can skip this step.

Step 7: Select the edition of Windows 11

Select the edition of Windows 11 that you want to install. You can choose between Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro.

Step 8: Accept the license terms

Read and accept the license terms and conditions.

Step 9: Choose your installation type

You can choose between a custom installation or an upgrade installation. If you want to install Windows 11 on a new PC, choose the custom installation option. If you want to upgrade from Windows 10, choose the upgrade installation option.

Step 10: Select the partition to install Windows 11

Select the partition where you want to install Windows 11. You can choose to create a new partition or install Windows 11 on an existing partition.

Step 11: Wait for the installation to complete

Wait for the installation process to complete. This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, depending on your PC's hardware and the installation options you chose.

Step 12: Set up Windows 11

Once the installation process is complete, you will be prompted to set up Windows 11. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Windows 11, including setting up your user account, connecting to a network, and customizing your settings.
